What songs will you be playing this Valentine’s Day? There are only two more days to go, but lots of wonderful love songs from the sixties from which to choose!
Remember this one by the Beatles? “She Loves You, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.” It was a big hit in the UK when it was first released in 1963, but it did not really catch on in Canada and the US until the next year when Beatlemania crossed the ocean.
The song popularized the phrase “yeah, yeah, yeah.” Apparently Paul McCartney’s dad wanted them to sing “yes, yes, yes” instead because he thought it sounded more dignified. No doubt there were a lot of English teachers who disapproved too. But it’s a great song and one we all loved to sing back in the day!
